Current projects
The businesses getting their start right now.
Follow the businesses HAPS has helped get started — the chicken farm, the produce stand, the food cart, the market table, the livestock pen, the washing service. Every one of them began the same way: training at HAPS Business School, then a $50–$250 micro-grant, then a Local Hope Ambassador who keeps showing up.
And every recipient commits to helping three other people work toward starting businesses over the following three years.
One opportunity can become many.
- 01Training first
- Business skills learned before a dollar changes hands. No capital is released before it.
- 02Then capital
- A $50–$250 micro-grant buys the feed, the stock, the seed, the cart, or the tools.
- 03Then reporting
- A Local Hope Ambassador checks in and reports how the business is actually doing.
The projects
Real people. Real businesses. Reported, not assumed.
Each project here is a person who finished the training, received a micro-grant, and opened a business — and the Local Hope Ambassador walking alongside them, keeping the record straight.
What a micro-grant starts
The grant does not invent a business. It funds the one the entrepreneur already knows and the community already needs — chicken farms · produce stands · food carts · clothing businesses · agriculture · livestock · transportation · washing services · market businesses.
Fund what comes next
One business. Three more lives.
Each recipient commits to helping three other people work toward starting businesses over the following three years. Your one gift keeps multiplying after the first business opens — and the next project on this page starts with someone like you.
